Hana Fiesta Memorial Park – Rose Festival

“We could see beautiully arranged roses of various varieties and colours along both sides of the road inside the park. Even outside the park there are as much flowers as we could see in any other medium rose gardens. At the entrance, two aliens are standing in between the beautifully arranged mini garden with small red roses in front and a bench in between different types of rose flowers around it to welcome us.”

Nagoya Castle: Heart of Central Japan

Nagoya Castle is located in Nagoya, central of Japan. The castle complex is made up of several enceintes, which are divided by the outer moat (Soto-bori) and inner moat (Uchi-bori). Each enceinte is protected by walls with turrets strategically located at each corner. Access from one enceinte to the next was controlled by guarded gates that were accessible by bridges. The castle is a good example of the type built on flat lands.

Sakura: My First Glance

“Hanami” is the centuries-old practice of picnicking under a blooming sakura or ume tree. The custom is said to have started during the Nara Period, when it was ume blossoms that people admired in the beginning.
